While I was sitting in the post office waiting to submit my passport application, I watched as the postal worker became full of life every time he had an applicant who needed their photograph taken. He had a bit of a bounce in his step as he grabbed the camera. “Tilt your head up. A little bit less. That’s it.” He reviewed each picture meticulously while we waited patiently.
Longwood Gardens is one of the many Du Pont estates that are now open to the public.
While sitting in the lawn chair I engaged in an intellectually stimulating conversation, pretending to be an aristocrat, overlooking my many acres of land, and eating my ham sandwich. I watched the geese as they played in the pond and all the people as they enjoyed the capital I have built.
Here is my day at the Longwood Gardens in photographs.
